Team we have reached the stage where the River Usk is becoming as familiar as the Thames, so time for a road trip!

Led by Glenn Jarman (always good to have someone to blame), Catalonia is our chosen destination. We will be based in the Spanish Pyrenees; Trevor geology road trip, Lolo sorry no skiing, Aoifefe & Sophie no need for dry-suits Aaron unsure steak & chips will be available every day also likely you will get salad garnish (but you can leave it), for myself loads of sun ideal to top up my tan!

The plan is to fly out to Barcelona on the Saturday where we will be collected from the airport & transit approximately 3 hours to https://www.campinglabordadelpubill.com/ where we will be based for the week. We will paddle for 6 days from Sunday through till Friday led by Bruce & Glenn http://brucejolliffe.com/kayaking-catalonia-pyrenees/intermediate-improvers-noguera-pallaresa/ on the Noguera Pallaresa which is dam release, so no need for a levels spreadsheet or constantly checking rain chasers Simon Saturday transit back to the Barcelona to fly home, or stay for the evening to party, sorry I mean sightseeing! Or consider it a CAMRA road trip Paul!

Participants should be competent G2/3 paddlers this is not a beginner’s trip but several club trips during the season could bring you up to standard so get signed up for the them. If in doubt ask myself or Loic.

6 places are available, cost £950 excludes flights but includes Barcelona transits, shuttles during week, paddling, chalet accommodation, breakfast & evening meals (well approximately half of them, the other nights we will eat in town). Glenn can take 3 boats out for us, we will hire another 3 & split that cost, Ben you can even hire a paddle to avoid breaking yet another of your own!

Several carriers fly to Barcelona, I would suggest arriving around lunch to allow transit time & settling in www.easyjet.com, www.ryanair.com, www.Iberia.com, www.norwegian.com/ukb & www.britishairways.com fly direct from various London airports. Personally LHR works better for myself to avoid train or carpark fees at other airports, but as long as we arrive at similar times book what works for you.

Payment scheme: 50% deposit requested before January 31st & balance before May 31st. Considering flights need to be booked understand they may be a strain with the festive season so let me know & we can negotiate a more flexible payment scheme if required

As always prority to fully paid Edge members 🙂
